Rangers can only concentrate on themselves for now given the gap to the top of the table with St Mirren next up in the league.

A short trip to Paisley will suit Philippe Clement just fine with the manager looking to maintain the momentum that has been built up with recent performances.

The fans are slowly starting to believe that this Rangers squad are capable of mounting a challenge, but they face another difficult test against St Mirren.

Rangers predicted XI vs St Mirren

Stephen Robinson’s side have seen three players sent off in their last four games but have still managed to win their last two and sit a respectable sixth in the Scottish Premiership table.

This is your predicted XI as the games come thick and fast over the festive period as Rangers face four away games out of the next five.

The defence gave up very little against Dundee despite having a new centre-half pairing at it’s heart.

Dujon Sterling and Robin Propper both played well with the latter stepping up to the plate in the absence of John Souttar, the Dutchman is finally looking like the player Rangers fans hoped he would be.

In midfield, Nicolas Raskin has done a lot of running recently alongside Mohamed Diomande, but the time to give the dynamic duo a rest is by making changes off the bench, not by dropping them from the starting XI.

Where Clement should rotate in attack

What is an easier role to rotate is at No.10, with Nedim Bajrami and Ianis Hagi more than capable of swapping without any real dip in quality, even if they play the role differently.

With a New Year derby on the horizon, Hamza Igamane should be given a breather though and Ridvan Yilmaz given another run out on the wing to help get in behind what could be a packed defence – Oscar Cortes can’t spend much more time on the bench without getting minutes too.

Over the next four games, rotating without disrupting the flow of the team is key, which is why Cyriel Dessers should remain on the bench as a back-up.

Here is how Rangers should line up:
