We predict the Rangers line-up v Motherwell as a defensive injury crisis deepens and teenage centre-back Leon King is expected to continue at the heart of the defence.

The 18-year-old is one of the most highly-rated youth prospects in Scottish football and only this week was being linked to the likes of Man Utd, Newcastle Utd and Leeds Utd in the Premier League [Fabrizio Romano].

And after an injury to Ibrox stalwart and Rangers vice-captain Connor Goldson the kid’s burgeoning talent is set to be fully tested ahead of what looks like a tricky tie v Motherwell at Fir Park.

Steven Hammell has inspired something of a turnaround in form with the Steelmen ever since replacing Graham Alexander at the beginning of August.

But despite being now up to 7th after a disastrous start to the campaign, Motherwell have lost three of their last four matches, losing against Hearts, Celtic and Motherwell.

Rangers predicted XI v Motherwell

Rangers fans are expecting their side to bounce back from the midweek humiliation against Liverpool and we suspect there might be a few changes ahead of this clash.

Allan McGregor is the Ibrox number one and we expect him to start here, with Leon King partnering Ben Davies in front of him.

With Connor Goldson joining Filip Helander and John Souttar on the sidelines until at least after the World Cup, it is a major boost that the ex-Liverpool defender is available for the side following injury fears in the week.

We expect Borna Barisic to continue at left-back despite calls for Ridvan Yilmaz to play, with captain James Tavernier also expected to play.

In midfield, we expect John Lundstram to play alongside Steven Davis, with Malik Tillman playing in front of them and behind the striker.

We then predict a front three of Ryan Kent, Antonio Colak and Fashion Sakala as Rangers look to roar back into action v Motherwell and bounce back from the heavy defeat to Liverpool.
