Philippe Clement knows that getting a result against Spurs isn’t going to save his job when there is a game that means so much more on the horizon.
The manager has an almost fully fit squad for what seems like the first time since arriving at Ibrox but will still be envious of the depth that opposite number Ange Postecoglou has at his disposal given the “injury hit” line up he was able to name.
Here are your Rangers player ratings for the game with Spurs…

Rangers player ratings vs Spurs
Rangers went toe to toe with their more expensive Premier League opponents and here is how they scored:
Jack Butland – 7
Had a solid first half aside from one loose pass out from the back and made a stunning stop from Brennan Johnson, the flag went up, but the Gers No.1 wasn’t to know.
Couldn’t do anything with Spurs’ leveller.
James Tavernier – 8
Return to form continued in the first half and kept livewire Timo Werner quiet for most of the opening period.
Linked up well with Vaclav Cerny and was aggressive out of possession.
Stunning ball across for Hamza Igamane to score the opener, the captain looks back to his best.
Second half block on Dominic Solanke prevented a certain goal.
Jefte – 6
A couple of scary moments shanking attempted clearances but was a constant menace in attack during the first half.
One inch perfect cross really should have been put away by Nedim Bajrami.

Robin Propper – 8
In for Leon Balogun, Propper continued his solid Europa League displays with a commanding first half performance including a fine block on James Maddison on the edge of the box.
Unlucky not to block Spurs goal but made a few telling tackles that energised the crowd.
John Souttar – 7
Ibrox went noticeably quieter when Souttar sat on the half way line and then had to be escorted off by the medical staff with what looked like a groin injury.
Hopefully, it is only a precaution and Rangers best centre half is fit for the Premier Sports Cup final because he led the defence impeccably until then.

Nicolas Raskin – 9
Outstanding. If he wants to play in the Premier League, this is the sort of display that will get him that move. Left his better paid and more illustrious midfield rivals in his wake on more than a few occasions.
Second hard wasn’t played as much on the front foot but covered every blade of grass trying to keep Spurs at bay.
Mohamed Diomande – 9
Alongside Raskin is a better fit for the No.8 or box-to-box role and got into some good positions in the first half as well as being clever in possession.
Seemed unflustered and composed under pressure in what was one of his best performances for Rangers.
Nedim Bajrami – 6
Very nearly an outstanding 45 minutes but snatched at a few efforts at goal and couldn’t quite get his final pass right.
Never hid or stopped trying though, just couldn’t get anything going after the break.
Ridvan Yilmaz – 8
Playing higher up, Ridvan’s pace was invaluable in helping out with defensive duties as well as getting up to support the attack.
A great option to have on the left hand side now.

Hamza Igamane – 9
With every game, it becomes more puzzling as to why he wasn’t given a run of games sooner.
Held the ball up, beat defenders, collected nutmegs and showed the sort of composure that has been missing for much of the season to open the scoring with a fine finish.
Vaclav Cerny – 8
Showing why he was brought to Rangers and why expectations were so high, Nils Koppen needs to ask Wolfsburg if a permanent deal for Cerny is possible because he is a real difference maker.
Replaced by Dujon Sterling with one eye on Sunday’s Old Firm cup final.
Substitutes
Connor Barron – 6
With Bajrami tiring, Barron was brought on to strengthen the midfield and was his usual energetic self.
Dujon Sterling – 6
Came on in the right wing position to add fresh legs and did exactly that once he got up to the pace of the game.
Leon Balogun – 6
Usual standard, however, got caught flat footed from the through ball that led to the Spurs goal.
Didn’t know whether to press or drop and did neither.
Robbie Fraser – 6
Replace Ridvan on the left wing with the instruction of running himself into the ground.
Cyriel Dessers – 6
Only a stunning stop from Fraser Forster stopped Dessers from scoring an incredible solo goal with five minutes to play.
Hit the back of the net but was miles offside.
