Rangers midfielder Bongani Zungu has been pictured in training as he prepares to make a surprise comeback against Falkirk on Sunday [Official Rangers FC Twitter].
Zungu has only made one appearance since joining the Gers on an initial loan deal from Amiens in October, missing the recent fixtures against Aberdeen and Benfica with a knee injury.

Steven Gerrard stated on Wednesday that the midfielder would be sidelined for a further 7-10 days [RangersTV], so it looked as though he wouldn’t feature again until December.
However, on Friday afternoon, Gary McAllister predicted that the South African would actually return at the weekend.
“Zungu is going to train today,” said the assistant manager [RangersTV]. “So, barring any disasters and he comes through the training, he’ll certainly be involved at the weekend.”
Later in the day, Rangers posted a photo of the 28-year-old taking part in a drill at Auchenhowie and the player himself shared more images soon after.
It’s excellent news for Rangers that Zungu is set to be available for the League Cup tie, as the game offers a great opportunity to give much-needed playing time to squad members who haven’t featured regularly in recent weeks.

If he is fit enough to start the game, it would likely allow Gerrard to rest veteran midfielder, Steven Davis, ahead of a busy period of fixtures.
As the first silverware on offer this season, the League Cup is very important for Rangers and they’ll be hoping to progress to the quarter-finals with a comfortable win.
