Victory for Rangers would extend their lead at the top of the table to a whopping 19 points, while a win for Celtic would reduce their deficit to 13 points with three games in hand.

The Gers will be full of confidence given that they come into the contest on a 13-game winning streak in the league, but the visitors are also back in the groove, winning their last six in all competitions.

Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Nikola Katic were all unavailable through injury, but Steven Gerrard has still named a very strong starting XI.

Allan McGregor makes his 401st appearance for the club in goal, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic making up the back four.

In midfield, veteran Steven Davis is joined by both Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo.

Alfredo Morelos leads the line as he searches for his first goal in this fixture, while Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe will provide support, with the latter making his Old Firm debut.

Will this side be strong enough to secure all three points?

Plenty of supporters have questioned the decision to play Leon Balogun alongside Connor Goldson at centre-back instead of Filip Helander.

Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:
