Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has left the door open for Alfredo Morelos to return to the squad for Saturday’s Premiership clash against Hamilton, as captured by RangersTV.
There has been much speculation about the striker’s future over recent months and Colombian journalist Yanjane Meneses G., claimed earlier this week on Twitter that Lille had agreed to sign him for €20 million (approximately £18m), but nothing has come to fruition just yet.
The Gers boss publically criticised Morelos’ attitude last weekend after leaving him out of the matchday squad for the 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
It seems the 24-year-old has put in much more work this week, though, and Gerrard hasn’t ruled out recalling him at Accies.

“I’ll make that decision later in the day,” he said when asked about Morelos’ potential involvement, as captured by RangersTV. “We’ve still got a session this morning so we’ll analyse and assess where Alfredo’s at.”
“What I will say is that we’ve definitely seen a difference in his application.
“He has refocused himself into training well and working hard this week but I’ll wait until the end of the play today before I decide whether he’s included or not.”
Morelos could return for Rangers against Hamilton – Verdict
El Bufalo has been Rangers’ talisman for several seasons but as the transfer rumours have gathered pace, his form has dropped off considerably.
The Colombia international has scored just three goals in his last 16 appearances for the club and Gerrard was right to leave him out last weekend given his apparent lack of focus.
Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten did enough to retain their places for the trip to Accies but given that Morelos’ attitude has improved this week, it’s probably worth including him in the matchday squad.
The Gers can’t afford a slip up before the international break and if they need a goal with 20 minutes remaining, it would be better to have the striker waiting in the wings than watching along at home.
