Rangers attacker Fashion Sakala has landed a pre-match Celtic dig by branding the Parkhead side “the other mob” in an interview broadcast on Sky Sports News.
A clip shows the likeable Zambian international using the term to describe the Celtic team as he previewed this weekend’s League Cup Final at Hampden.
Naturally, it’s had Rangers fans in stitches as they celebrate Sakala’s ballsiness and brashness, with the chaotic forward an important player in recent Old Firm derbies.
“Obviously, I know how important the game is when you play the other mob,” said Sakala.
“I believe it is all about the badge, and I don’t really think about my individual performance, the most important thing is about the win for the fans, and the club and the good performance from the players.
“I think it’s a very important game for the club and the fans, and we are going to give everything to fight for the win and to get the trophy.
“The impact I brought into the last game was good for the squad but I’m looking for more great performances.”
Fashion Sakala lights Rangers Celtic touch paper
Naturally, the comments of Fashion Sakala have drawn the ire of the usual suspects in the media as Celtic fans and their media lapdogs criticise the Rangers forward.
Cerebral powerhouse John Hartson has been out claiming Celtic should be shown more “respect” whilst the Parkhead support are decidedly salty about the comments online.
The entire thing has Rangers fans chuckling and let’s hope Zambian international Fashion Sakala can once again prove an important player against Celtic.
The unpredictable attacker has been a genuine bright-spark against the Parkhead side recently, with the striker central to the winning goal the last time the two clubs met at Hampden.

As Calvin Bassey raced down the left, Fashion Sakala darted into the box with the winning goal coming off Carl Starfelt.
The attacker also scored in a 1-1 draw at Parkhead last season, whilst Fashion Jnr was named Man of the Match in the recent 2-2 draw at Ibrox, winning the penalty for James Tavernier to put the Ibrox side ahead.
Meanwhile, Michael Beale has been addressing the state of the Hampden pitch ahead of the clash.
