Rangers manager Philippe Clement has sent a message to supporters on social media following that legendary Europa League victory over Real Betis.

The Ibrox gaffer has been a breath of fresh air since joining the club in October and Rangers fans are certainly taking to the 49-year-old.

Having just become the first Rangers manager ever to win away to a Spanish team in Spain, Rangers were every inch the spirited, disciplined and brave team Philippe Clement talks about building.

It’s still early days into the Belgian’s tenure at Ibrox but the signs are certainly positive and the ex-Genk, Club Brugge and Monaco manager has expressed his pride at the result.

Philippe Clement takes to social media

Taking to social media platform Instagram, Philippe Clement praised his players for overcoming Real Betis in Spain, the 3-2 victory ensuring safe passage in the Europa League as Group C winners.

Also praising the supporters for their contribution, Philippe Clement lauded the result but quickly shifted the focus to the small matter of the League Cup Final at Hampden this weekend.

“Pride, that’s the only correct word to describe tonight’s team performance,” said Clement. “What an incredible support from the fans.

“Ready for more European football in 2024. Now focus on Sunday.”

Rangers manager the toast of Govan

Rangers manager Philippe Clement is the toast of Govan at the moment but it’s clear there is still plenty of work to be done – and matches to be won – before he gets the keys to the district.

The Ibrox boss has put in some very healthy building blocks over the last two months but with injuries and uncertainty surrounding the squad it’s very much just the beginning.

To go to Spain and earn a victory against such high-ranking opposition as Real Betis speaks volumes from a Rangers point of view and you’ll forgive fans for beginning to dream of Europa League glory once again.

But between now and March, Clement and Rangers have plenty to focus on domestically with the Ibrox manager set to be judged on his success on home soil.

Taking to social media to shift the focus onto Hampden this weekend, it’s clear Philippe Clement isn’t stopping with the win in Spain as the southside of Glasgow buys into what the Belgian is selling.

Here’s everything the Rangers manager told the post-match press conference in the aftermath of the victory in Spain.
