Rangers manager Philippe Clement is yet to come across Neil Warnock in football as he prepares to face him against Aberdeen.
The legendary English manager, 75, has made his first foray into Scottish football with the Dons and it’s added an extra sense of excitement ahead of the Ibrox clash.
But when asked about the incoming Aberdeen manager, Philippe Clement insists that he’s yet to cross paths with Neil Warnock in the game.
That’s even if the former RC Genk, Club Brugge, and AS Monaco manager is firmly aware of who the Englishman is.
Philippe Clement on Neil Warnock
Speaking ahead of the clash with Aberdeen, Philippe Clement claims that Neil Warnock has a “long history in football”.
The Rangers manager also suggested that he doesn’t expect the Dons style to change so much with the way they play already very much suited to Warnock’s style.
“No I know him of course,” said Clement. “He has a long history in football.
‘But I haven’t been so much at the island here in the past with other teams so we never met. But it’s somebody with a lot of experience. I don’t think it will change a lot.
“I don’t think Aberdeen will suddenly play in a totally different style, I think the style that they were playing, it’s also more the style that he wants to see.
“So I don’t see big changes and whatever happens we are ready for that. That’s the good thing, the last couple of months we met a lot of different playing styles and the team knows better and better how to react towards a certain style.”
Rangers manager talks Aberdeen rivalry
Philippe Clement has also been talking about the rivalry between Rangers and Aberdeen ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash.
Claiming that the clash is more from the side of the Dons, the Ibrox manager also claims that Aberdeen are in the top three or four teams in the county.
“I’ve seen it, it’s living a lot of life on the other side,” said Clement. “In Aberdeen, against Rangers apparently it’s really something special.
“So I know that, I have the experience now with two games already and I saw the third game also at the beginning of the season.
“So it’s going to be a good battle. It’s for me, it’s one of the, yeah, I need to say three, four best teams in the league for me, in quality of squad.

“So I am a bit surprised the position they have in the league but there are a few reasons for that in my mind but I don’t want to speak about that I want to speak about Rangers.
“So it’s a team with a lot of quality and we know we need to be at our best to take the three points and that’s everything time they go.”
Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership but can go top with victory over the Dons, the Ibrox side having a game in hand on leaders Celtic, who sit top by three points.
Aberdeen – who have brought in Neil Warnock to replace Barry Robson – find themselves in 8th in the Scottish top flight table.
