Free-kick calamity in Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Hibs at Ibrox has gone viral on social media – with several Easter Road stars bound to have some rosy cheeks.
The Ibrox side were in relentless form in Glasgow this afternoon, with several big performances in a comfortable victory over Nick Montgomery’s side.
But after the match it was a moment in the first-half involving three Hibs players and a Hibs free-kick which has somewhat broken the footballing internet.
Hibs summed up in hilarious free-kick clip
In the hilarious clip – which at the time of writing had reached over 1m views – Hibs midfielder Joe Newell was left decked out when teammate Nectarios Triantis fired a free-kick off his face from a few yards away.
The calamity continued when the ball spun off Newell and wiped out another Hibs player, resulting in two players being flattened on the Ibrox turf.

The author of the clip – @ottawascot – is actually spot on too. In one fell swoop, Hibs have managed to sum themselves up perfectly. It’s pure poetry in motion.
Rangers impress to go top of Scottish Premiership
As far as the result is concerned, Rangers impressed at Ibrox and Hibs, although carrying a minor threat in the match, struggled to contend with Philippe Clement’s team.
James Tavernier had given Rangers the lead with a stunning volley, which came after Scott Wright’s penalty rebound was ruled out for encroachment.
Myziane Maolida then equalised in the midst of some poor Rangers defending, only for Cyriel Dessers to restore the lead with a bullet header from a Todd Cantwell cross.
Rabbi Matondo – who came off the bench alongside the returning Abdallah Sima – then fired in a beautiful 3rd to show exactly what he’s capable of from the edge of the box.

Sima might’ve even made it four had he managed to get his shot on target after rushing through on David Marshall with what proved one of the final kicks of the ball.
The result puts Rangers top of the Scottish Premiership ahead of Celtic visiting Livingston tomorrow afternoon.
