Rangers are set to play host to Celtic in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on Sunday.

Danny Rohl will be sweating over the fitness of his players as he would want a full-strength squad at his disposal against the Hoops.

Rangers drew 2-2 against Celtic last time the two sides met, and Rohl would not want a repeat of that performance as his side squandered a two-goal lead at home in the Scottish Premiership.

Mikey Moore has small injury issue for the Celtic clash

In his pre-match press conference, Rohl confirmed that Mikey Moore is battling a small injury issue ahead of the game.

The Tottenham loanee, who has played 37 games this season, is now facing a race against time to be available for the Old Firm clash, and is expected to start if he is available.

The Rangers manager did reassure fans that he believes he should be fine ahead of kick-off, but as things stand, he is a doubt.

However, Rohl did issue a positive update with regard to the fitness of his players, confirming that he has a full house in training.

This would mean that Connor Barron, Derek Cornelius and Max Aarons all seem to be in contention to make the squad.

Barron is unlikely to start against Celtic, but his return to the bench would also be a major positive.

Rohl said: “We are full house in the training at the moment. Everyone is nearly back.

“We have a small issue with Mikey Moore, but I think he should be OK for the weekend.”

Does Mohamed Diomande return to Rangers starting eleven?

Rohl also spoke about Ryan Naderi and Mohamed Diomande, as only one of them is expected to start against Celtic.

If Naderi starts, Rangers will likely line up in a 4-2-2-2 system with two strikers up top, while a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 can be deployed with Diomande on the side.

Naderi struggled against Celtic, so an argument could be made to drop him in place of the Ivory Coast international.

Diomande’s inclusion would give the Gers more solidity in the middle of the park, and they can always get the German striker off the bench in the second half if things do not go as per plan.

Discussing the duo, Rohl said: “Ryan’s in a good way. Especially this game on the weekend, it was a highly demanding game.

“He will play more and more. But I think during the game, I felt that we have to change something. Mohamed Diomande trained really well during the week again.

“That was the reason why I made this decision to bring a No. 10 on and to sub the centre-forward out.”
