James Tavernier has led Rangers to victory in the Scottish Premiership clash with Celtic at Parkhead.
The Ibrox skipper, 33, hasn’t always had it his own way in the Old Firm fixture but James Tavernier played a crucial role in the impressive 3-2 victory.
The Rangers captain found the head of Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin for the Ibrox side’s opening goal in the match, with Nico going on to be handed Man of the Match by Sky Sports full-time.
But the post-match interview was interrupted by the jubilant celebrations from the away dressing room after Rangers won their first game at Parkhead in over five years.

James Tavernier apologises for Rangers celebrations
James Tavernier faced the Sky Sports cameras alongside Nicolas Raskin but the interview was interrupted by celebrations from an Ibrox teammate.
An unidentified figure screams ‘Nicolas Raskin Man of the Match’ before saying something inaudible, followed by ‘let’s go’.
But Tavernier obviously heard what one of his Rangers teammates said and told the broadcaster ‘I apologise for the language’.
Whilst Tavernier and Raskin go on to try and give an interview to Sky Sports, there are audibly loud cheers from within the Rangers dressing room.
The Rangers team then start blasting I’m Feeling It by the Sunset Bros, an unofficial Ibrox anthem, as the post-match celebrations got underway in the away dressing room at Celtic Park.
Rangers captain gives two cents on performance v Celtic
James Tavernier has also been giving his two cents on the Rangers victory over Celtic and reckons his teammates were good value for the win.
The result certainly comes too little, too late for Rangers to catch Celtic in the Scottish Premiership but it gives the Ibrox side bragging rights in Glasgow.
Tav reckons it’s the perfect end to a great week with the Rangers skipper also leading the side to the Europa League quarter finals.
The comments from the Rangers captain come after Celtic legend Neil Lennon branded the Gers’ ‘outstanding’ for their first half performance in Glasgow.
”Obviously happy to get the result,” Tavernier said. “We had a really good first half.
”Then we sat off a bit too much second half and that brought them into the game but we showed character throughout the match and Hamza comes up with the winner.
”Delighted to get the three points here and obviously it’s been a good week for the club.”
