There hasn’t been a huge amount to celebrate for Bears since the turn of the year, but the vast majority of positives have to some extent, featured Ianis Hagi.

The 21-year-old, who signed for Genk for £4m in the summer [BBC Sport] before joining Rangers on loan in January, scored twice in the home leg of the Europa League Round of 32 clash against Braga, before contributing an outstanding assist in the second meeting in Portugal.

To date, he’s only had four starts in the league, but he did score a late winner at Ibrox against Hibernian last month, showing he’s capable of producing in the Premiership.

The Romanian international isn’t blessed with great pace, but he does possess vision, flair and the very valuable ability to shoot with both feet.

Much of the attention was focused on Alfredo Morelos’ absence at Tynecastle, and it’s true that the Gers lacked a focal point.

However, with more goals and assists, Hagi has been a more influential figure for Rangers since the winter break and his absence was keenly felt too.

Without his creativity in the final third, Steven Gerrard’s players looked lost and unable to create genuine opportunities.

When he was eventually introduced just after the hour mark, he was deployed too wide and struggled to get involved.

Against an Accies who will be coming to sit behind the ball and scrap, his eye for a pass and penchant for the spectacular could be key.

Rangers must now put together a run of results to save their blushes and Hagi will be required to play a big roll over the coming weeks.
