Graeme Souness believes that Rangers players will be angry after failing to beat Celtic in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.

The Gers held a 2-0 lead at half-time and instead of capitalising on it, gave the Hoops a way back into the game and the match ended 2-2.

Souness believes that the Celtic players will be feeling like they got “out of jail” after picking up a point from Ibrox.

Graeme Souness backs Rangers to beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup

The former Rangers manager admits that Celtic would have come away as the happier of the two sides after the league game.

Martin O’Neill would want to use that momentum to carry his team over the line in what is going to be another difficult visit to Ibrox.

Souness believes that last Sunday’s result will have angered the Gers and that they will use that fuel to beat their arch rivals.

Even if the game heads to penalties, Souness is backing his former side to get the job done and make it to the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Speaking on Off the Ball, Souness said: “I still think Rangers will win, Celtic came away feeling happier when they got on that bus and went back to Parkhead.

“They got out of jail, Rangers would’ve been angry with themselves about why they couldn’t continue that.

“So, all week you’ve got a team that are happy to get the point out of it, and a team that are angry with themselves for not completing the job after a really good 45.

“So, I’m expecting an angry Rangers tomorrow, and even if it went to penalties, I still fancy Rangers.”

Will Danny Rohl change his system to beat Celtic?

While Danny Rohl has been credited for getting the Gers back in the title picture after the disastrous start to the season, he has also been criticised for their failure to see out games.

It could be the case of individual errors and them not fully understanding what is expected from them, or it could be an issue with the system itself.

There is a chance that Rohl will make changes to the Rangers side in order to get a response from his players.

A lot has been said about the Light Blues not being ruthless enough, and that needs to change if they are to win the Scottish Cup and the Scottish Premiership this season.
