It is likely that Glenn Middleton and Eros Grezda will start for Rangers tomorrow afternoon.
Grezda looks set to get the nod ahead of Daniel Candeias, despite the latter completing his suspension. Middleton benefits from the continued absence of Ryan Kent, who is still a few weeks away from overcoming a hamstring problem.
However, regardless of the status of their respective competition, these two deserve a starting berth after the calibre of their performances last time out. The pair racked up three goals and two assists between them against Motherwell.
It was Grezda’s first real positive outing at Ibrox. Previously, his most defining contribution had been squandering a glaring late opportunity against Spartak Moscow in the Europa League. By contrast, he should now be full of confidence and raring to go.
As for Middleton, the 18-year-old is riding the crest of a wave. He is improving with each appearance and took his most recent goal with supreme composure.
Neither player started the 1-0 defeat at the Tony Macaroni Arena in September. As a result, they will pose new problems for Livingston, who have conceded just seven goals so far in their top flight return.
Tomorrow, Rangers must come out of the blocks quickly. With their direct approach, these two players are the key to unlocking a resolute opposition.
Morelos needs ammunition, and it is up to Middleton and Grezda to provide it.
