While Celtic have been in supreme form at Parkhead this season – winning all nine fixtures – it’s been a different story on their travels.
Away from home, they have lost three and drawn three out of ten.
Additionally, Celtic have conceded nine goals on the road, compared to just four at home. It’s hardly a woeful defensive record, but it does suggest they are twice as vulnerable when playing away.
Those are certainly encouraging figures for Rangers.
What’s more, in their last outing, Brendan Rodgers’ side conceded three goals at Aberdeen.
They ultimately went on to win the game, but not without showing defensive fragility.
Should they be without Kieran Tierney again at left back, either an out of form Emilio Izaguirre or makeshift full-back, Jonny Hayes, will take his place.
In that case, Celtic will have a clear weak spot.
Rodgers may talk as though it’s business as usual, but his side are definitely more defensively vulnerable than in previous seasons.
Arguably, given their recent struggles in front of goal, Rangers aren’t best placed to capitalise.
However, if they get it right today, they can certainly find a way through.
Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs have all managed it. It will be tough, but there’s no reason Rangers can’t emerge victorious this afternoon.
