Barry Ferguson has revealed that he could not control his emotions watching Rangers play Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership.

Having seen Hearts and Celtic win the day prior, it was imperative for Danny Rohl’s side to pick up the three points.

However, they did themselves no favours as they went down 2-0 in the first half, but mounted a spirited comeback in the second period to win 6-3.

Barry Ferguson was enraged when Rangers went down 2-0

Ferguson admits that he could not believe what he was seeing as he saw his former side concede two goals without any response.

Rangers went into the game as the form team and expected to pick up the three points comfortably.

However, given the start they had, the former manager reveals that he was ready to smash his TV.

He did credit John McGlynn and Falkirk for the job they’ve done this season and also went on to say that they deserve to be in the top six.

But, in his view, that did not give Rangers an excuse to start the game in the lethargic manner that they did.

He told Five Stars VIP: “I was ready to smash my TV. And if I’ve been honest with you, I couldn’t believe it.

“I knew it was going to be a hard game, because let’s be honest with you, John McGlynn and his Falkirk team have been excellent this year and they thoroughly deserve to be in the top six and I knew it was going to be hard, as I said, but the way we started was lethargic.”

Why Danny Rohl will be delighted with the break between games

Getting the three points rather than the performance is what mattered against Falkirk, and Rohl got the job done.

He will be delighted that the break has come before their next league fixture, as it gives the Gers the time to go to Spain and enjoy some warm weather.

There are a few injuries on the side as well, and Rohl will be hoping to have most of them in optimum condition ahead of the next match.

It will also give the players a break and offer them to unwind in conditions more favourable to the human body.

They know that the job is not yet done, but at least they can return with a more recharged frame of mind.
