Rangers fans have not been holding back ever since the club crashed out of the Premier Sports Cup against Hibs after a 3-1 defeat at Hampden and Alfredo Morelos has not been immune.

In a season where the Colombian striker has lost his place in the international set-up and looked disinterested and distracted, Morelos’ unenthusiastic and tepid display against Hibs is symbolic of his regression.

Morelos barely kicked his own backside against the Hibees and whilst his form might not be there this campaign a lack of enthusiasm and effort is inexcusable.

The bare minimum that Rangers supporters expect is effort from the players and Morelos could barely muster that never mind exert an influence on the game.

The striker had one solid chance with Rangers trailing but his timid effort was saved by Hibs stopper Matt Macey.

Other than that, Morelos was often posted missing in the match, misplacing five-yard passes and even once undercooking a through ball which could’ve put Ryan Kent in on goal.

The striker also managed to switch the ball from one side of the pitch all the way into the stand on the other side in a moment which summed up his sloppy play.

Alfredo Morelos looks “disinterested” as Rangers fans blast performances

If Morelos wants to move on, then Rangers are better served finding him a club in January because at the moment his performances are not enough to merit a fight to keep him.

However, dreams of a big move to the English Premier League or a top club in Europe have undoubtedly been hampered by his poor standards this season.

If Morelos is serious about earning a major move, then he must buck up his ideas but, in the meantime, Rangers fans are calling him out for yet another disgraceful display:

Rangers fans will point to an in-form if not fully settled Fashion Sakala who deserves a run in the side based on Alfredo Morelos’ current showings.

The Ibrox side are not performing as the sum of their parts and one key leader’s post-match comments have drawn the ire of supporters.
