Wes Foderingham is set for a rare Rangers start against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The 28-year-old endured a frustrating 2018/19, following Allan McGregor’s return to the club. Fods was immediately demoted to back up stopper and made just eight appearances in all competitions. Four of those came in the league.

However, he’s set to be between the sticks at Rugby Park due to McGregor’s absence.
The veteran is still paying the price for a bizarre kick out at Hibernian’s Marc McNulty at Ibrox in May. After being found guilty of violent conduct, he was banned for the final two games of that campaign, and the 2019/20 opener.

Due to recent departures, Foderingham stands near unopposed as his replacement.
Andy Firth is now the only other senior keeper at the club, and he’s likely to make the bench.
However Foderingham performs, it’s unlikely he will retain his spot when McGregor’s suspension lifts. His future at the club is also uncertain given his previous comments about seeing himself as a no.1 keeper [Daily Record].

He’s a reliable performer, though, and Gerrard will have no hesitation sending him out in this crunch league opener.
