Rangers are preparing to welcome Motherwell to Ibrox on Flag Day as Gers fans gear up for the emotional raising of the Scottish Premiership flag.
The Gers are set to officially hoist the Champions Flag above Ibrox for the first time in a decade, with the unorthodox September date of the event unavoidable due to Covid-19.
Rangers wanted 50,000 fans in the ground for the match and 50,000 fans is what they’ll get for what is an important Scottish Premiership fixture.
Motherwell come into the match in good form having won their last three Premiership matches to find themselves in fourth place in the table.
It’s also a stern test for Rangers after the club fell to defeat against Lyon and we suspect there could be a few changes for this match.
Steven Gerrard spoke in the aftermath about the importance of the squad this season amid injuries and Covid-19 call-offs as the Gers continue to stumble through the campaign [Rangers].
Performances are not quite at the level expected of Steven Gerrard’s charges and the manager has put that down to the constant, enforced chopping and changing in his squad this season.
Once again, we suspect there be some changes with Ryan Kent definitely missing the match and doubts remaining over Alfredo Morelos.
We expect Leon Balogun to come out of the side also, whilst Steven Davis looks long overdue a rest.
As a result, we suspect four changes to the side that were beaten by Lyon as Rangers look to get back to winning ways at Ibrox.
In order to do so, the Gers will also have to overcome a “Budget Bergkamp” who has his sights set on spoiling the title party.
