Rangers take on Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena in a Premiership clash on Wednesday evening, with the Gers seeking to restore their 18-point lead at the top of the table.

David Martindale’s Livingston have struggled in recent weeks and lost the League Cup final to St Johnstone at the weekend.

However, the Lions are always tough to beat on their artificial surface and Steven Gerrard is set to be without several players due to injury.

Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Bongani Zungu are all still set to be available, though, given that the SFA are yet to hand out punishments relating to the recent breaches of Covid regulations.

We’re predicting that Allan McGregor will continue in goal, while Patterson will come in at right-back for his first-ever Premiership start, with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic completing the back four.

Steven Davis and Glen Kamara are likely to keep their places, but Scott Arfield could come in to provide extra physicality in the middle of the park, with Joe Aribo moving further upfield.

A shift forward for the Nigeria international would likely see Ianis Hagi drop to the bench, despite his recent strong form, while Ryan Kent would be deployed on the left and Alfredo Morelos would lead the line.

Meanwhile, Rangers’ well-wishes proved to be in vain as one of their club partners suffered a big blow in a high-profile fixture on Monday night.
