Rangers are preparing to face off against Hibs at Easter Road and in the words of Fashion Sakala himself, “revenge” is in the minds of the Ibrox squad.

The Gers are licking their wounds after a disappointing Hampden Premier Sports Cup exit to the Hibees and are in resurgent form under new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The defeat to Hibs was the last result before the Dutchman took charge and although early in Gio’s tenure, how the team respond against the Edinburgh club will be sign of the ex-Ibrox star’ managerial impact.

Rangers go into the clash with a four point lead knowing they can both extend that to seven points and heap the pressure on Old Firm rivals Celtic ahead of their game with Hearts.

Not only this, but should the Gers get the victory then it’ll be a big dent to rival fans already crying conspiracy because the club hasn’t quite collapsed since Gio came on board.

Attention will quickly turn to who will play at Easter Road and Rangers may be boosted ahead of the clash by the return of Kemar Roofe.

The Jamaican international is the club’s top scorer and hasn’t been seen since picking up a knock during the last international break.

Rangers prepare to face Hibs at Easter Road in Premiership “revenge” mission

But we’re expecting Gio van Bronckhorst to largely stick to his guns with team selection ahead of this clash with only one change to the side that beat Livingston 3-1.

At the back, Allan McGregor retains his spot with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic doing likewise.

It’s in midfield we expect to see the change, with Steven Davis coming back into the squad for Ianis Hagi and dropping back into midfield alongside Glen Kamara.

Joe Aribo, Scott Arfield and then Ryan Kent are being tipped to start off the striker Alfredo Morelos as Gio looks to make it three wins on the bounce at the beginning of his Ibrox career.

Meanwhile, have a look at this historic clip of Gio being discussed by Jimmy Bell and where the Ibrox gaffer used to sit in the Gers dressing room.
