Rangers are preparing to head to Celtic Park for a hotly anticipated Old Firm clash a month in the making.
The rescheduled fixture was initially set to take place on January 2nd but due to Covid-19 restrictions on supporters the winter break was controversially moved forward.
Rangers have since dropped points in two Scottish Premiership matches since the restart and have seen their lead cut from six points to two.
This means that Celtic – themselves nursing several absences – could go top with a victory in Glasgow’s eastend with Rangers also having no fans in the ground for the fixture.
But Rangers have been boosted by the signing of Aaron Ramsey this week, who topped off a strong transfer window with Amad Diallo, James Sands and Mateusz Zukowski also joining.
It’s fired some momentum towards Rangers heading into the match and all eyes will be on Celtic Park as the Ibrox side look to continue an unbeaten run over our rivals that stretches over two years.
Rangers predicted XI for trip to Celtic Park
But the Ibrox manager was clear that Allan McGregor would be trusted by the club with Leon Balogun also coming into the side.
We’re backing both to start the match in a back five of McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun and Barisic.
In midfield, we’re tipping Rangers to find some balance with Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo starting in the middle.
Up top, with his pace we reckon Ryan Kent and Amad Diallo will start on the wings with Kemar Roofe starting amid the absence of Alfredo Morelos.
It promises to be an enthralling clash, and should Rangers manage to overcome their Old Firm rivals at Celtic Park it’ll send an emphatic title message.
