Rangers take on Lincoln Red Imps in Gibraltar on Thursday afternoon in a second-round Europa League qualifier.
It’s a first European outing of 2020/21 for Steven Gerrard’s men and expectations are high for the campaign following last season’s superb run to the Last 16.
Lincoln are no Bayer Leverkusen but Celtic know that they’re capable of an upset on their own artificial patch and it’s important that the Gers don’t take them lightly.
The manager is set to be forced into changes from the starting XI that took on Dundee United at the weekend and he may give opportunities to one or two players who’ve struggled to get a look in so far this season.
However, a strong Rangers side will definitely be selected for the 4pm kick-off at the Victoria Stadium.
Jon McLaughlin is yet to concede in a competitive fixture as a Rangers player and he will continue between the sticks.
There could be an alteration to the back four, though, with George Edmundson in contention for his first appearance of the season.
Filip Helander only played at the weekend because of the niggle picked up by Leon Balogun in the warm-up and Gerrard may opt to rest the centre-back – who recently featured for Sweden in the Nations League – in order to keep him fresh for the upcoming trip to Easter Road.
6ft 3″ Edmundson featured on several occasions in Europe last season and the physically imposing defender could finally be given another chance to impress alongside Connor Goldson.
In midfield, Glen Kamara is set to replace the injured Ryan Jack, while Steven Davis may also be rested. The Northern Ireland skipper was outstanding against Dundee United but after playing 270 minutes in eight days, he should have his feet up for this one.
Scott Arfield impressed off the bench against the Terrors and he could replace Davis in the middle.
Kemar Roofe, Ryan Kent and Ianis Hagi were all involved in goals at the weekend and are likely to retain their places, but Brandon Barker will drop out of the side due to injury.
With Joe Aribo injured and none of Jordan Jones, Jermain Defoe or Cedric Itten likely to be fit enough to start, Greg Stewart could be handed his first start of the campaign and a big opportunity to impress.
