Rangers fans have responded on social media after the Gers starting XI was confirmed for Wednesday night’s Premiership clash against Aberdeen.

It’s set to be a very emotional night at Ibrox as Rangers play for the first time since the sad passing of legendary former manager and chairman Walter Smith.

A number of players are missing for the hosts, with Filip Helander, Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent all out injured.

However, Steven Gerrard still had a strong squad to pick from and confidence is relatively high after victories over Brondby and St Mirren in the past week.

In the end, the manager made just two changes from the side that won 2-1 in Paisley on Sunday.

Jon McLaughlin continues ahead of Allan McGregor in goal, while there’s one change to the back four with Calvin Bassey replacing Borna Barisic to join James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun.
