Rangers fans have responded on social media after the Gers starting XI was confirmed for Sunday afternoon’s Premiership fixture against Dundee United [Rangers FC Twitter].

Rangers are hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership table to 18 points ahead of Celtic’s evening clash with Ross County in the Highlands, while the Terrors are seeking a win at Ibrox that would move them into the top six.

Steven Gerrard had a number of issues to deal with heading into the game, with skipper James Tavernier injured and forward Kemar Roofe suspended, while Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Bongani Zungu were all also unavailable after breaching Covid protocols last weekend.

In all, the manager has made four changes from the side that defeated Royal Antwerp 4-3 in Belgium on Thursday night.

Allan McGregor starts in goal, while Leon Balogun replaces Tavernier to join Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic in the back four.

In midfield, Ryan Jack returns in place of Glen Kamara, while Joe Aribo drops back to midfield at the expense of Scott Arfield, with Steven Davis retaining his place.

At the top end of the pitch, Ianis Hagi fills the void left by Aribo and Ryan Kent returns in place of Roofe, while Alfredo Morelos continues in the no.9 role.
