Just a few weeks after a chastening league defeat at Rugby Park, Rangers return for a Scottish Cup Fifth Round match this evening.

Ever since Jordan Jones condemned the Gers to a 2-1 reverse, things have been on the up.

Rangers avoided a potential banana skin at Central Park in the previous round. Furthermore, they have built up a head of steam in the league.

Livingston, St Mirren and most recently, Aberdeen, have all been despatched.

For today’s game, Alfredo Morelos was unavailable after a failed appeal against his midweek red card. He has been replaced by Jermain Defoe, the scorer of the fourth goal at Pittodrie.

Goalkeeper, Allan McGregor, remains though.

He faces a two match ban after being cited for violent conduct by the SFA, a decision that didn’t go down well amongst the fans. However, with his appeal set for Tuesday afternoon, he can continue in the side for now.

Elsewhere, there’s just one other change.

Borna Barisic drops out at left back, to be replaced by Andy Halliday.

This is a big game for the Gers, as defeat would leave the league as their only remaining hope of silverware during Steven Gerrard’s first season in charge.

There’s also an extra spice to the occasion after Steve Clarke’s comments in the build up.

Here’s what a selection of Rangers fans thought about the line-up.
