Rugby Park has proven to be something of a bogey ground for Steven Gerrard since his appointment as Gers boss, but this match presents an opportunity for his team to show how far they have come on this season.

The Light Blues have won eight consecutive matches in all competitions, keeping five straight clean sheets, so they could hardly be in better form coming into the fixture.

Following a Europa League outing against Lech Poznan on Thursday night, some changes were always likely and the manager has made five in total.

Allan McGregor remains in goal but there’s an alteration to the back four. James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic all keep their spots, but Filip Helander replaces Leon Balogun in the left-sided centre-back berth.

In midfield, Ryan Jack has overcome an injury scare to start alongside Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo, with Steven Davis and Glen Kamara dropping to the bench.

At the top end of the pitch, Ryan Kent continues on the left but Alfredo Morelos and Cedric Itten come in for Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi.

Will this team be strong enough to take all three points against Alex Dyer’s Killie?
