In midfield, Scott Arfield is joined by Glen Kamara and Steven Davis.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Morelos leads the line and will be supported by both Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent.

Both sides come into this game with seven points from their opening three Group D fixtures, but their preparations have been very different.

The Gers warmed up with a convincing 4-0 Premiership win over Aberdeen on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Kent, Roofe, Arfield and Tavernier.

Benfica also won at the weekend, but they fielded a B team and struggled past lower-league side Paredes 1-0.

Jorge Jesus’ decision to rest players for that Taça de Portugal clash was prompted by an availability crisis ahead of their trip to Glasgow.

Darwin Nuñez, Julian Weigl and Adel Taarabt are all out after testing positive for Covid-19, while Nicolas Otamendi is suspended and the likes of Pedrinho, Jean-Clair Todibo and Nuno Tavares are all also missing through injury.

Momentum is certainly more with the hosts than the visitors and history is on the Gers’ side too, as Benfica have never scored in Glasgow in UEFA competition despite playing in the city four times in the past.
