Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has previewed Thursday’s clash against Young Boys in the Europa League, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The Gers got off to the perfect start in Group G with a 1-0 win over Feyenoord at Ibrox.

It was a dominant display from the hosts who could have been three or four goals up by half-time.
Things get more difficult this week, with an away trip to Switzerland, but the manager is confident his players can take something from the game.
Rangers boss Gerrard previews Young Boys clash
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with going to Bern with belief and confidence,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times. “I wouldn’t say we’re expecting to win, but we’ll certainly go with that intention. I want the players to believe. I want them to be confident and not fear anyone.”
“If we get it wrong it’s my fault because I’m giving them the system and game plan so all they have to do is go and express themselves.
“What a fantastic opportunity and challenge it is for the players…It’s so exciting for them…I actually think when the group was given out some people were happy to have Rangers in there. We need to use that to our favour, we need to use that underdog tag.”

Verdict
The recent result against Feyenoord should give Rangers confidence that they are well capable of competing in what is a tough group.
You have to think Stevie G’s side need points from all of their home matches to progress. Picking up results on the road would make things a whole lot easier, though.
Last season, a weaker Gers squad showed they could mix it away from home. They earned an impressive draw at Villarreal and led at half-time in Moscow against Spartak. Furthermore, in nine European fixtures so far this season, Rangers haven’t been behind once.
There are plenty of reasons to travel with confidence, then, and although there’ll be no Bears in the stadium to will them on, there’s no reason this side can’t get a result.
