Scott Arfield’s Canada have qualified for the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The Reds secured their spot by hammering Cuba 7-0 in North Carolina.

It was a dominant performance from start to finish from the favourites who secured second place in Group A.
After coach Jonathan Herdman’s bizarre decision to leave Arfield out against Mexico, he returned to the starting lineup and played the full 90 minutes as captain. However, surprisingly, there were to be no goals for him this time around.
Lucas Cavallini and Jonathan David were the heroes on the day. Cavallini netted an impressive first-half hat-trick, while David also bagged a trio. Cardiff City winger Junior Hoilett got in on the act, too, netting in the 50th minute.

Cuba had previously been defeated 7-0 by Mexico and 3-0 by Martinique.
The Rangers star and his teammates now progress to a quarter-final scheduled to take place on Sunday.
Canada’s opponents are as yet unknown, but as group runners-up, they are set to receive a more difficult draw than winners, Mexico.
Therefore, they will need to be prepared for a much greater test than that provided by Cuba.
