An injury picked up during the Tenerife training camp back in January, has ensured Eros Grezda’s 2019 is only just beginning.
He headed into the international break desperately short of game time.

However, quotes reported by the Daily Record suggest he’s highly thought of by Albania head coach, Christian Panucci.
Therefore, he has played a significant part for his country over the last week.

The 23-year-old came on as a 58th-minute substitute in a 2-0 defeat to Turkey, at the weekend.

On Monday night, he started away against lowly Andorra.
He lasted 70 minutes, before being withdrawn for Bekim Balaj. At that stage, it was only 1-0. Yet, two late goals would later add some gloss to the scoreline.

Is he ready for Celtic?

Gerrard has some difficult decisions in terms of team selection ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm.
With over 100 minutes of football behind him this week, Grezda should be approaching the required level of match fitness.
The summer signing is still unlikely to get the nod at Parkhead, though.
Back in December, he was fit when the sides met at Ibrox, but not selected in the squad. Since then, he’s done little to suggest that he deserves a start on such a big occasion.

Grezda will likely nab a spot on the bench this time around, but Gerrard is likely to go with the well-rested Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias, on the flanks.
