Rangers star Borna Barisic opens up after Croatia goal

Borna Barisic has spoken out about his recent exploits with Croatia, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 26-year-old left-back joined Rangers for a reported £2.2 million during the summer window.

Yet, it’s been far from an easy transition into life in the SPL.

Injuries have sidelined him for large portions of the season, and he’s faced criticism for his performances since breaking back into the side.
On Thursday night, though, he started for 2018 World Cup finalists, Croatia.
Not only that, but he scored the goal which started the comeback against Azerbaijan.

“When scoring comes into your head, you delete it automatically”, said Barisic, as quoted by the Record.
“You have other things to do.”

“You have the whole team on the field to contribute but I talked for a few days about being able to score.”
“Now it has all come to something. My first official performance and there is no better feeling to score as a debutant in front of your own supporters.”

There’s no doubt Barisic enjoyed his moment in the spotlight. It was an important goal too, as a home defeat would have been the worst possible start to Euro 2020 Qualifying.
I’m sure he’ll be hoping for a repeat dose on Sunday, as Croatia travel to Hungary.
