Jon McLaughlin has received an international call-up despite not playing a single minute for Rangers so far in 2021 [Scotland National Team].
The goalkeeper joined the Gers in the summer and enjoyed a spell in the side at the start of the season, but has only made four appearances since losing his spot to Allan McGregor in mid-September.

He has been named on the bench for all 14 of Rangers’ matches since the turn of the year, with Steven Gerrard apparently unwilling to risk disrupting the outstanding McGregor’s rhythm.
Steve Clarke clearly hasn’t been put off by the 33-year-old’s lack of playing time, though, as he has been included in the Scotland squad for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Austria, Israel and the Faroe Islands.
David Marshall of Derby County and Hearts’ Craig Gordon are the two other keepers in the squad.
There was no room for teenage Gers right-back Nathan Patterson, but Ryan Jack has been included despite missing a number of recent club matches through injury.

Jack has established himself in Scotland’s midfield in recent times and will be hoping to hold onto his starting berth with the European Championships looming.
Former Rangers midfielder John Fleck has also been named in the squad, as has his Sheffield United teammate and well-known Rangers fan, Oli McBurnie.
Meanwhile, Ross Wilson has provided a positive transfer update for Bears.
