Borna Barisic is one of a host of Rangers players away on international duty this week.
The 26-year-old was in Euro 2020 Qualifying action for Croatia on Friday evening, in an important Group E clash away to Slovakia.
Rangers supporters are yet to see consistency from Barisic, and Steven Gerrard left him on the bench for the Old Firm last Sunday.
However, he’s very much first-choice left-back for his country and he played the full 90 minutes in a convincing 4-0 win.
Nikola Vlasic opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Bayern Munich loanee Ivan Perisic added a second after the break. Bruno Petkovic scored a third on 72 minutes and while Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren put the gloss on things with a late fourth.

It was an important win for last years World Cup finalists, who took advantage of Hungary’s lack of a fixture to go top of the group on goal difference.
In the international arena, Barisic is turning out alongside some top players including Luka Modric and Marcelo Brozovic, and participating in big wins like this can only be good for his confidence.
Rangers fans rally behind Barisic
Here’s a selection of reactions to the full-backs outing:
I really hope Borna Barisic takes this chance and grabs the bull by the horns to make that left back role his. Clearly a talent. Would love nothing better than to be proven wrong about him. C'mon Borna, we are all behind you 🔴⚪🔵🇭🇷

Played very well, Croatia controlled the game easily. He’s been brilliant for Croatia as of late, always running down the wing and his crossing was good tonight. Hopefully he is the starting left back for us for the near future.

An injury absence for Jon Flanagan is set to give Barisic an extended run in the side following the international break, providing he comes through unscathed from another qualifier against Azerbaijan on Monday.
Let’s hope this is finally the time where he grabs his opportunity and cements his spot as the club’s no.1 left-back.
