With St Johnstone travelling to Ibrox for a big SPL fixture on Saturday afternoon, it looked as though a controversial ex-Ger, Michael O’Halloran, would be making a return.
However, comments on from Saints manager, Tommy Wright, on the club’s website, have thrown his participation into doubt.
The 28-year-old didn’t cut it during his stint with Rangers and made matters a lot worse for himself by attending a Celtic cup game, whilst still under contract.
He rightly faced severe criticism for his actions and was soon off to Australia with Melbourne City.
That spell was both unsuccessful and short lived. Subsequently,
he returned to his old club, St Johnstone, last month.

In what looked to be a warm up for Saturday’s fixture, he turned out for the Saints reserves against the Gers, earlier this week.
Yet, he was forced off during that game with an injury.
“Mikey felt his hamstring in the Reserves on Monday so he’s likely to miss out tomorrow, although we hope to have him back for the Aberdeen game”,
Tommy Wright told the Saints’s website.
He’s not the only injury concern for the visitors, either.
An ex-Celtic player is also a doubt.
“Tony Watt is struggling with an ankle problem and we’ll continue assessing him.”
It looks as though we’ll have to wait to see what sort of reception O’Halloran gets back at Ibrox.
Whenever it happens, we don’t imagine it’ll be a warm one.
