Steven Gerrard has given his thoughts on the international break, in an interview with RangersTV.
The manager revealed he’s been worrying about some of his star men picking up injuries whilst representing their country.

Borna Barisic was forced off during Croatia’s defeat to Hungary. Unfortunately, he’s subsequently ruled himself out of Sunday’s Old Firm.
Therefore, Andy Halliday looks set to start at left-back. It’s a role he’s now accustomed to, though. He delivered a Man of the Match display from there in the last Derby.

However, elsewhere, there appears to be a clean bill of health.
The manager was drawn on the performances and relative fitness of Steven Davis, in particular.
“I’m sure he [Davis] will benefit from the two 90 minutes [against Estonia and Belarus]”, Gerrard told RangersTV.

“I’m sure it’ll do his confidence the world of good and he’s come back healthy.
“He’ll be available for the weekend, which is good news for us.”

Therefore, it’s a boost that he returns fit and available for club selection.
However, he faces an uphill battle to make the starting XI.
The likes of Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield starred in the last Old Firm and look more likely to get the nod.
