There was bad news for a Rangers loanee during today’s 3 pm kick-offs.
Jason Holt was stretchered off 14 minutes into Fleetwood Town’s fixture against Accrington Stanley in League One.
“Worrying signs here as Holt is being stretchered off”, wrote the Fleetwood Twitter account.

It’s a big blow for the 26-year-old just as he was finding form for the Cod Army.
He scored his first goal for the club during their previous outing, a 2-0 home victory over Plymouth Argyle.
With such competition in midfield at Rangers right now, it looks unlikely that Holt has a future back at Ibrox, despite being contracted until summer 2020.

Therefore, he jumped at the chance to join former teammate turned manager, Joey Barton, at Fleetwood at the beginning of the season.

Before this afternoon’s game, he had made 35 appearances in all competitions, with 33 coming in the league.

He may not have been banging the goals in, but he’s been a regular starter under Barton. Therefore, his manager will also be hoping this isn’t as serious as it sounds.
Let’s hope the use of the stretcher was only precautionary, and a more positive update emerges soon.
