During Friday morning’s press conference, as followed by the Rangers Twitter account, Steven Gerrard provided an injury update.

The Gers are back in SPL action on Saturday afternoon, against Kilmarnock. However, it looks as though they may be without several key players.

Ryan Jack

The 27-year-old has been a mainstay of the Rangers midfield so far, in 2019. Yet, he’s been labelled a ‘major doubt’ by his manager ahead of Saturday. A foot injury picked up in the initial Scottish Cup tie against Aberdeen is still lingering, while he also has a calf problem.

Scott Arfield

This is the last match before Arfield jets off to Vancouver to represent Canada. However, he too is a ‘major doubt’ for Killie. He’s had a niggling calf problem for some time and it looks to have flared up since Tuesday night’s defeat.

Nikola Katic

A fully fit Katic could be in line for a recall this weekend after a shaky midweek display from Connor Goldson and Joe Worrall. Yet, the centre-back is struggling with illness and is still being assessed.

Eros Grezda

Gerrard confirmed today that the Albanian winger is back in full training following a foot injury. That’s no great surprise though, considering he’s been spotted taking part in sessions on multiple occasions in recent weeks.

Jamie Murphy

The 29-year-old winger is on his way back from serious knee ligament damage. He’s been doing light training for some time now and the manager revealed he’s on course to be available for the final few games of the season.

Overall, it’s mixed news ahead of the last game before the international break.

If neither Jack or Arfield are passed fit, it may offer opportunities to the likes of Ross McCrorie and Steven Davis to stake a claim in midfield, though.
