Rangers defender Borna Barisic has ruled himself out of Sunday’s clash against Celtic, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The left-back scored his first international goal last week, in a comeback win over Azerbaijan.
However, he was forced off with an injury during the first half of the following fixture against Hungary.
The report suggests that scans have shown more than just a minor knock.
“It’s the same injury I had before on my left leg and I will miss a minimum of two weeks”, said Barisic as quoted by
the Record.
“I’m sorry that I will have to skip the big derby with Celtic.
“Unfortunately, it’s not the first time I have had to miss the biggest match in Scotland either. Now I have to focus on recovery.”

As eluded to be the player himself, this is the latest in a long list of injury problems.
Barisic seems to be unable to put together a big run of games without picking up a problem. He’s come in for criticism recently but looked to be finally getting up to speed before this latest setback.
Rangers can take comfort from the fact that in December, his absence didn’t adversely affect the result.
His replacement, Andy Halliday, earned the Man of the Match award as Rangers won 1-0.
