Steven Gerrard provided an injury update during Thursday morning’s press conference, as followed by RangersTV.
Encouragingly, he confirmed that Jamie Murphy could still play some part before the end of the season.

However, there was one potential blow in defence.
“In terms of last night, Joe Worrall’s got a bit of a knock”, explained the manager, as captured by RangersTV.
“I don’t think it’s serious, but he jarred his knee at the end of the game.”
He didn’t rule the defender out of contention for Sunday, though.
“He’ll need some treatment today and a couple of down days and then hopefully we can have him ready to train on Saturday. But, as I say that will depend on how he recovers in the next 48 hours.”

Could this be a boost for Nikola Katic?
It sounds as if Worrall will be touch and go for the weekend. His ability to train on Saturday is clearly going to be used to gauge his fitness levels.
Therefore, the door creaks slightly ajar once more for Nikola Katic.
Some fans were surprised the Croatian wasn’t included against Hearts. After all, Worrall is set to return to Nottingham Forest shortly, while the Gers invested heavily in Katic in the summer.

Yet, it appears Gerrard is determined to stick with Worrall for the time being.
Katic’s only hope of adding to his 13 SPL appearances this season, could hinge on the speed of Worrall’s recovery.
The 22-year-old and plenty of Rangers fans will be hoping there’s a change at centre-back at Fir Park on Sunday.
