RB Leipzig boss makes Rangers atmosphere “excuse” claim

RB Leipzig manager Domenico Tedesco has paid tribute to the Rangers atmosphere and branded the Blue Sea of Ibrox the greatest sight he has ever seen.

Gers fans everywhere woke up beaming this morning after the Ibrox side overcame the odds to defeat the cash-rich Bundesliga side in a pulsating match in Glasgow.

Eventually running out 3-1 winners, it was a game that had it all one of the greatest nights in the history of our great club.

Domenico Tedesco and his RB Leipzig charges played their part but they are the latest to fall at what is fast becoming one of the most formidable fortresses in Europe.

Post-match, the Italian-German coach branded it “electrifying” but insists it wasn’t the deciding factor on the night.

“The atmosphere contributed its part,” said Tedesco [Derek Rae].

“I have to say it was the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced in a stadium anywhere. It was crazy, electrifying.

“And that was the excuse for the first 10-15 minutes. But after that we’re we were into the game & had the atmosphere behind us.

“Everything else is down to things that were missing on our part. It’s a shame.”

It’s clear the atmosphere had a big impact on Domenico Tedesco and his RB Leipzig squad but whatever the case Rangers are through to the Europa League Final and will play Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.

The showpiece event is set for May 18th and will see fans from across the globe descend on Spain.

Rangers last reached this stage of the competition in 2008 where they were beaten 2-0 by Zenit St Petersburg but you’d be a brave man to bet against the Gers going the distance in Seville.

Meanwhile, the celebrations of one Rangers legend sums up exactly how we’re all feeling.
