Once Rangers-linked Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga helps down Liverpool with Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the Europa League.
The 23-year-old attacker scored in southern France as Toulouse ran out surprise 3-2 winners over Liverpool in the Europa League.
The strike will have Rangers fans thinking what might’ve been with the Ibrox club strongly linked with a move for Thijs Dallinga in the summer of 2022.
Back then the forward was coming off the back of a stellar season with Dutch second division side Excelsior, netting a whopping 36 goals for the club in the 21/22 season.
But before the ink had barely set on those reports linking Rangers, Thijs Dallinga was signed off on a reported £2.2m move to Toulouse who’ve just upstaged Premier League Liverpool.
Rangers-linked Thijs Dallinga downs Liverpool
Impressively, when Thijs Dallinga joined Toulouse they had just been promoted back to Ligue 1, with the striker’s impressive return of 18 goals in France helping the club to the Europa League this season.
And it’s in Europe’s secondary continental competition that Thijs Dallinga is impressing most this season with the strike v Liverpool his third goal in four games this campaign.
Having also netted in the 5-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, and the 1-1 draw with USG, the striker is turning heads in the Europa League and Rangers fans might start thinking what if.
As Thijs Dallinga moved to Toulouse, Rangers opted to sign Croatian striker Antonio Colak who had a solid season in Glasgow but who never quite won over the fans or Michael Beale.

Lasting only one year at the club, Colak was sold on to Parma in the summer and Rangers have since massively changed tact at the top end of the park.
Saying that, Rangers’ current frontman would certainly give Thijs Dallinga a run for his money even if the striker has just scored twice in as many games against Liverpool.
Brazilian hitman Danilo is the man of the moment at Rangers but was clipped singing the praises of an Ibrox teammate instead.
