Former Rangers coach Michael Beale has never been shy in nailing his colours to the mast and the now-Aston Villa man has hinted at visiting a bar to watch the clash with Leipzig.
Ahead of the Europa League semi-final clash with RB Leipzig, Steven Gerrard’s first team coach was tagged in a post asking about Rangers-friendly boozers in the Birmingham area.
But whilst Michael Beale didn’t recommend a spot he urged those involved in the post to inform him if they found somewhere, suggesting he might pop along for the game.
It just goes to show that Rangers never leaves you and you can be rest assured the former Ibrox backroom staff will be watching on as the squad they built aims for European glory.
The immense work done by the likes of Michael Beale during Steven Gerrard’s Rangers tenure set the foundation for the club’s progress in Europe and we’ve a lot to be grateful to these guys for.
The Birmingham RSC – who’re in Leipzig to watch Rangers take on the Germans – have also recommended Hennessy’s Bar in Digbeth as somewhere the see the match.
Let’s hope everybody involve in this exchange is happy come full-time in Germany and we’re sure Michael Beale and co are proud as punch of the progress Rangers are making in Europe.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is now the man in charge at Ibrox and ahead of the game he insists that his depleted squad is ready to take on the Germans.
“Of course we have the belief,” said Van Bronckhorst [Rangers].
“If we are still involved in Europe and in a semi-final and you see the run we’ve had in Europe then it’s been very good. But we need another good performance and again next week.
“The confidence is there but I think also that we know that we have to perform again and everything we achieved in the past doesn’t count against Leipzig. We are just preparing well for these two games and I am very confident in my team.
“It’s the semi-final of the Europa League so the level is high, the level needed is also high, so we have to prepare well and make sure we have a good result to take back to Ibrox for next week.”
Meanwhile, the Rangers boss also answered questions on a potential deal for a former Premier League defender.
