Celtic in suite little mystery as Rangers threaten to trash Seville legacy

Celtic have appeared to either rename or take one of their hospitality suites off the market as Rangers threaten to trash their indulgent legacy regarding Seville.

The Parkhead side have been routinely ridiculed for how they celebrate the defeat in the Spanish city in 2003 after Jose Mourinho’s Porto pipped them 3-2 AET in the UEFA Cup Final.

The legacy of that run to the UEFA Cup Final – which came the same season as Rangers won the treble – is felt throughout the entire club.

Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season

There have been musicals regarding the run, a hospitality suite was named the Seville Suite and on Celtic Park there is the “Seville Wall” where fans’ names are bricked into the ground.

That’s before we go into all the DVDs, t-shirts, delusional commentary regarding glorious failure, the indulgence regarding the nature of their support.

But football is a funny old game and the Gods of the sport have offered hilarious karma as Rangers go to the Europa League Final in Seville to play Frankfurt.

Rangers already tarnishing Celtic Seville legacy

If the Gers can win the tournament, it almost certainly crushes the legacy of this heavily-celebrated defeat and probably slaps the club around the lugs for having the audacity to celebrate it so much.

The fact Rangers have made the final in Seville has been a great source of entertainment to Ibrox fans who’ve been goading their Old Firm rivals all week, some even trying to book the suite.

Now, Celtic have responded by removing the Seville Suite from an official booking website in a hilarious turn of events that signal a domino falling ahead of the Final next week.

The Seville suite is no longer mentioned as being able to hire via the Glasgow Convention Bureau in a hilarious turn of events.

Rangers still need to overcome Eintracht Frankfurt to win the tournament but should they do so then decades of indulgent gloating over a defeat are about to come back in Celtic’s faces.

This is perhaps the beginning of Celtic’s Seville legacy being smashed and for Rangers supporters, it’ll undoubtedly be an added bonus to going on and winning the competition.

Because lifting the trophy leaves a much bigger legacy than falling at the final hurdle – and they all know it.

Meanwhile, has UEFA intervention forced Rangers hand regarding the launch of a new kit?
