Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield impressed in only his second league start of the season in the  3-1 victory over Livingston.

His contract runs out at the end of the current season and this performance will go a long way in aiding his hopes of a new deal.

This was van Bronckhorst’s first league match in charge of Rangers and the team raced into a two-goal advantage.

Arfield, who was playing in a more advanced role, notched the first before Joe Aribo scored a stunning second as the Ibrox side controlled the match.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Although Livingston grabbed an unlikely goal before halftime, the result was never in doubt and Fashion Sakala made sure of all three points as he scored a fine header.

Often the forgotten man at the start of the campaign, the Canadian has been impressive whenever he has featured for the club over the last few weeks.

Since joining Rangers in 2018, he has always given 100% and has been a key figure for the club in our ascent back to the top of Scottish football.

Van Bronckhorst may have some tough decisions to make regarding contract renewals soon, with the likes of Steven Davis and Allan McGregor facing uncertain futures.

At 33, Arfield may not start every game, but when he does, the manager can surely count on him to deliver when it matters.

The Canadian wasn’t the only impressive performer in the win over Livingston, with fans saluting Joe Aribo for his man-of-the-match performance.
