Rangers defeated Dundee Utd at Ibrox 1-0 after a James Tavernier penalty was awarded following a handball in the box from Utd player Scott McMann, sending Celtic fans into meltdown.
The Ibrox side found the going tough in the first half as they dominated possession but couldn’t find a breakthrough.

With the opposition heavily depleted due to a Covid outbreak during the week, the onus was for Rangers to take charge straight away and lay down a marker as the chance to stretch our lead to seven points in the title race was for the taking.
Rangers being awarded a penalty, no matter if it is the right decision or not, will always provoke a reaction from opposition fans.
As news spread of the Ibrox side being awarded the 71st-minute spot-kick, which Tavernier dispatched with ease, Twitter exploded with various reactions.
Here is a selection of them below, get the popcorn ready.

This content is pure gold, Celtic aren’t even playing today yet all the focus is on Rangers.
The funny thing is, Rangers currently sit third on the penalties awarded table for the Scottish Premiership with four being awarded to the club.
Hearts and Hibs occupy the top two spots with six and five penalties respectively, yet there never seems to be any fuss over them?
And for Celtic? Well, they sit just behind Rangers with the side being given three penalties since the start of the season.
Yet, as always, it’s all a big conspiracy about the Gers getting every decision going and being awarded a penalty match after match.

Winning 1-0 to extend the lead at the top of the table to seven points, the side remaining unbeaten under Gio, and seeing Celtic fans having meltdowns on Twitter, it has been a fantastic Saturday.
