Leeds United’s reported pursuit of Man United winger Daniel James could have an effect on Rangers, with Ryan Kent also a target for Marcelo Bielsa.
Leeds attempted to sign James from Swansea City in January 2019 but the deal fell through and the Wales international moved to Old Trafford last summer for £15m.
The Whites have reportedly revived their interest, though, and according to David Anderson of the Mirror, they are planning to launch a loan bid for the winger in the coming days.
Should they manage to land the 22-year-old, it could bring their interest in Ryan Kent to an end.
The Sun reported earlier this summer that Leeds had submitted a £10m bid for the Rangers star, with Steven Gerrard later confirming an initial offer had been rejected.
Speculation has abounded ever since but while it has been suggested that the Premier League side are still interested [The Phil Hay Show], they have yet to return with an improved offer as they explore other options with deadline day looming ever nearer.
Bielsa clearly wants an additional winger and Kent has been outstanding so far this season, scoring five times as well as picking up a handful of assists.
However, James is a full international with Premier League experience and if a loan deal is there for the taking, he would be a lower-risk option than splashing out big money on Rangers’ key man.
