Rangers confirm Amirian deal
Rangers have today announced that OH Leuven coach Zurab Amirian is joining the club in January 2024.
Amirian will take the role of ‘Head of Academy Football’, working closely with Academy Director Zeb Jacobs.
Jacobs has been quoted on the Rangers official website as saying that the club have been searching for the right man for a while.
The target was to land a coach who ‘fits within the Academy’s culture and vision to create the most exciting learning environment in sport’ – and Amirian is the one.
Jacobs believes that Amirian will bring ‘constant innovation and energy’ to Rangers, believing that he can ‘maximise the potential’ of Rangers’ young players.

Who is Rangers-bound Zurab Amirian?
Amirian did have a playing carer but decided to hang up his boots at 18 after being in the OH Leuven youth ranks.
Amirian went straight into coaching, guiding the OH Leuven under-9’s as his first role.
The Belgian coach progressed in the OH Leuven ranks before starting Fido Football, a non-profit football academy in Belgium.
Amirian then became a ‘Talent Development Expert’ with Double Pass, all whilst continuing his ascent with OH Leuven.
Amirian became Under-18 boss in 2021 and even became Assistant First Team Coach this season, working closely with Marc Brys and Eddy Vanhemel.
The time has now come for Amirian to leave OH Leuven, with Rangers managing to tempt him away from Belgium in what looks like an impressive move.
