World-renowned TV chef and former Rangers defender Gordon Ramsay was back at the club this week and was presented with a special jersey by Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

On a recent visit to the Rangers Training Centre as part of a special RTV feature, Ramsey was handed a special jersey with “Chef Ramsey” printed on the back.

The popular TV chef would then take the time to pose for a series of photos with Rangers players and staff and even spoke to club captain James Tavernier

The notorious TV personality has built a monumental career in food and television ever since leaving Ibrox but it’s clear part of his heart is still at Rangers.

Arguably the most famous celebrity chef in the world, with his shows Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen taking him into the stratosphere, there was a time when Gordon Ramsay aspired to be a footballer.

Gordon Ramsay returns to Rangers

Ramsay, now 55, spent time with Rangers as a youngster but due to a series of serious injuries was forced to give up on his footballing dream.

Plenty will be glad that the celebrity bluenose did too with Gordon Ramsey going on to cement himself as one of the world’s most renowned chefs.

Whilst Ramsay did spend time on the books at Rangers he never actually played for the club before hanging up his boots and moving into cheffing.

The restaurant group Gordon Ramsay Restaurants was founded in 1997 and has gone on to be awarded a remarkable 16 Michelin stars overall.

Born in Johnstone just outside Paisley, Ramsay is one of the most famous Scots on the planet and it’s great to see him back at Rangers after all these years.

It’s not the first time the celebrity chef has visited the training centre either, having previously done so for an official visit during Walter Smith’s time as manager.

Meanwhile, Rangers are reportedly set to announce a deal for one of the club’s key players.
